AFGES has a mission to represent students and young people. We attend various councils and represents students through dozens of student volunteers in our network.<\/span><\/p>

Apartisane, elle n\u2019est affili\u00e9e \u00e0 aucun parti politique. L’AFGES n’est pas apolitique pour autant, l\u2019AFGES fait bien de la politique \u00e9tudiante, \u00e0 travers diverses positions qu’elle d\u00e9fend au sein des conseils et des instances dans lesquels elle est pr\u00e9sente.<\/span><\/p>

AFGES statutes set out our fundamental values. We defend pluralism while respecting humanist, republican and European values.<\/span><\/p>

AFGES internal governance is based on a federal model: it is AFGES Board of Directors, made up of representatives from each association & branch, which is sovereign and decides on the positions adopted by the AFGES. By students, for students, these positions are then defended by the Board & the elected representatives of the federation in the councils and with the public authorities. The guiding principle of AFGES can be summed up in one sentence: <\/span>Working for a University accessible to all, in the best living and working conditions<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t

The component councils are the decision-making bodies of each component (faculty, UFR, school, institute). Every two years, students elect representatives to these councils.<\/p>\n

AFGES federal aspect enables it to rely on more than fourty associations: it is these associations and their elected representatives, within the components, who carry the federation's positions.<\/p>\n

With these elected representatives, AFGES enables dialogue and close collaboration between component student representatives and representatives on central councils.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The central councils are the University's governing bodies. There are two main councils, in addition to a multitude of other bodies and commissions.<\/span>
